Kuwaiti operator Ooredoo has launched new postpaid data packages, including a promotional offer that will allow costumers to use 1 TB of high-speed internet with various devices for KWD 12.00 (US $39.43) per month. The devices will cover the interests of all customers, from gaming to productivity, entertainment and movies. Customers can add gaming devices such as Xbox or PlayStation 4, the latest tablet releases from Huawei or Apple or the latest Apple TV.
Data hunger among consumers has reached truly heroic proportions, driven by the use of mobile devices for entertainment. Only recently, 1 TB would have seemed like a notional quantity, a marketing ploy at best, but the streaming of movies, video games and, to a lesser extent, music, has made a terabyte a thinkable amount of data to actually use. In an affluent market such as that of Kuwait, it makes sense for a mobile operator to offer this allowance.
