T-Mobile Poland is organizing a series of free online workshops for entrepreneurs, and the one that will be held on 5 December will focus on e-commerce. This sector is forecast to grow by 20 percent in Poland this coming year to PLN 26 billion (US $8.4 billion), accounting for more than 4 percent of total retail sales. During the workshop, the operator will present its cloud services, as well as other services that enable businesses to create websites and e-shopping systems.
Tarifica’s Take
Since e-commerce—the mobile variety in particular—is clearly the wave of the future, in developed and developing economies alike, it is wise for mobile operators to do everything they can to make sure it does not get away from them. In this regard, we feel that no effort is too small. T-Mobile Poland’s free workshops are a good example of a proactive approach to forging bonds with retailers, even if they are far from being industry giants. By fostering knowledge, the operator is not only encouraging more e-commerce but increasing its chances of being chosen as the service-providing partner in future ventures. The promotion of cloud services as a hosting venue for mobile commerce enhances the MNO’s usefulness in this field.
