O2 Slovakia has introduced a new line of packages, all of which offer mobile customers device discounts and access to Netflix.
The Basic O2 plan costs EUR 19.00 (US $20.65) per month for 5GB, 100 minutes and unlimited SMS, while the Comfortable O2 plan costs EUR 29.00 (US $31.52) for 10GB and unlimited calls and messages.
The Carefree O2 plan, which costs EUR 39.00 (US $42.39), offers unlimited calls, messages and data, but also includes a EUR 5.00 (US $5.43) credit whenever the customer uses less than 15GB in a month.
Tarifica’s Take
This is an interesting move by O2 Slovakia. Unlimited data packages are not particularly common in Europe, and as such, many customers might feel wary of taking the plunge to a higher tier plan that offers unlimited data, especially if they aren’t sure if it will be worth the cost.
As a way to mitigate the potential risk, O2 is offering unlimited customers a EUR 5.00 credit for any month they use less than 15GB of data. The possibility of savings if they don’t use too much data during any given month might provide enough reassurance to customers that they will opt to try the unlimited plan.
