Ooredoo Oman launched Ooredoo Care, a new feature within its Oredoo Oman app that is designed to help users set up their smartphone and run basic diagnostics to ensure their device is functioning optimally. The new feature also offers a one-click platform for smartwatches and Ooredoo TV to help customers keep all their devices running smoothly.
Available for iOS and Android, Ooredoo Care automatically detects the make and model of the customer’s phone and offers a step-by-step guide to setting up the device. Android users can also use the Device Health feature to auto-optimize the phone’s settings and monitor battery and CPU temperature, as well as unlocking additional notification settings to customize the device. Users can download the Ooredoo Oman app free of charge from the Apple Store or Google Play.
Customer-service apps from operators are nothing new, but we feel that there is something new and appealing about this one from Ooredoo Oman. That is the ability to detect the make and model of the subscriber’s device. This feature allows the subscriber to get support and setup instructions that are tailored to his or her needs, without any need to spend extra effort asking for it.
But Ooredoo Care goes well beyond that. Its Device Health feature allows the user to choose to have his or her smartphone automatically optimized. This means that settings will be quickly and easily matched to the user’s individual needs; in particular, the battery optimization will be welcome because it will make it less likely that the phone will run out of power at an inopportune time. In addition, the app’s compatibility with Apple and Android alike will ensure that a very broad swath of Oordeoo’s subscribers will be able to make use of it.
In addition to increasing customer satisfaction levels, Ooredoo Care should benefit the operator in a deeper sense. Having customers’ devices running as smoothly and efficiently as possible will also encourage those customers to use their devices more and with more pleasure, therefore increasing the amount of data they consume. In this way, it may well increase the operator’s revenues.
